I believe that every person is unique and that differences should be celebrated. I practice a person centered and strength based approach to counselling and believe in evidence based practice. I also stay current and up to date by participating regularly in professional development.
I have 23 years of experience in the helping profession. I am a Registered Clinical Counselor who is an EMDR Therapist. I am also trained in Behaviour Analysis, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), CBT - Insomnia, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Ego State Interventions. These additional therapies are integrated into EMDR sessions, based on the individual needs of each client I support.
I provide individual counselling for children, youth and adults.
My focus is EMDR for PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, Panic Attacks, Complicated Grief, Disturbing Memories, Pain Disorders, Performance Anxiety, Dissociative Disorders, Stress Reduction, and Caregiver/Compassion Fatigue.
A bit more about me....
When I am not working or participating in professional development workshops, I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking in Sedona, Arizona. Some of the images that are on my website and hanging in my office were captured there. I have always been drawn to animals and enjoy their companionship. I love hanging out with my 3 Shiba Inus (Keiko, Koichi and Michi) and my senior kitty (Zoe). For many years, I also had a fabulous horse named Spy.
